Fit India Week at Chitkara International School

Health and Fitness is of utmost importance for an active life and toning up of our body systems. Keeping up with “Fit India Movement” (which is a nation-wide movement in India to encourage people to remain healthy and fit), Chitkara International School is organising various activities for its students, staff and valuable parents to motivate them to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

The activities under FIT India shall be conducted virtually from 11th December to 23rd December 2020. The schedule of FIT India will include Freehand exercises, various Fun and Fitness activities, some common yoga asanas, debates, Mental fitness and open mic activities on various topics related to Health and Fitness. The Brain Games like Chess etc. will be one of the significant activities of the fitness schedule as such games play a very important role in mental health and also help in improving concentration/problem-solving capacity. Furthermore, various poster making/ advertisement preparation competitions will be conducted on themes related to emotional and physical well being.

The important role of proper diet, consumption of healthy and nutritious food in maintaining health and fitness during this pandemic situation will be discussed through various debates/ symposiums/ lectures. The theme of “Get fit, don’t quit” will be followed through podcast/ movie making, to convey the message of the importance of staying healthy and fit. There shall be various quizzes related to fitness/sports and some exciting challenges like Squats, Spot Jogging, Ball dribbling etc. Besides this, the students will be apprised of various facts related to different games and general health and fitness tips by motivational speakers.

The FIT India Week will be concluded with a day that will be dedicated to Family fitness, focussing on various fitness sessions at home by creatively using home-based equipment for sports and fitness. Through this schedule, the School is earnestly aiming at a successful experience, knowledge sharing as well as the ultimate goal of adopting a healthy lifestyle by its students, staff and parents as “Hum Fit Toh India Fit.”
