Making a Difference: Community Outreach at Chitkara International School, Panchkula

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”
– Helen Keller

At Chitkara International School, we firmly believe that engaging with partner schools and the local community yields immeasurable benefits. Our primary goal is to instil not only knowledge and skills in our students but also to promote their well-being, rights, and responsibilities, enabling them to become significant and robust members of society. We take immense pride in the recognition of our dynamic Chitkarian, Arryan Madhu Chitkara, who has been honoured with the title of Brand Ambassador for Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0 and Swachh Survekshan 2023 for Chandigarh City.

Through a philanthropic spirit, collaborations with various communities, and the adoption of villages and schools, we at CIS continuously strive to contribute to making the world a better place.

  • Contributions – “By sharing, we stand ready to build relationships and give wings to humanity”

CIS has a longstanding tradition of sharing resources with nearby schools and communities. Aligned with our charitable goals, we regularly donate essential items such as furniture, clothes, toys, and water bottles to assist those in need. These efforts not only extend a helping hand but also help our students develop values and experiences crucial for becoming the change-makers of tomorrow.

  • Sessions – “Words to make a difference”

Service is deeply ingrained in the ethos of CIS. We aim for our students to develop not only intellectually but also personally, ethically, and spiritually. They gain the character and wisdom to apply their knowledge for the betterment of others. Our students, health brigade team, and staff visit various government schools to conduct sessions on Common First Aid Procedures, Food Hygiene and Nutrition, Adolescence Challenges, Menstrual Hygiene, and Child Safety. Collaborating with Government Senior Secondary School, Dhanas, we organise sessions that promote the noble mission of Swachh Bharat. Our constant endeavour is to generate impactful local knowledge that transcends borders and ensures that community-generated knowledge contributes value to our surroundings.

  • Events – “Coming together and joining hands to serve”

CIS frequently opens its doors for community events, welcoming those less privileged and remaining receptive to new ideas, innovations, and individuals for the betterment of society. Our students and staff develop character and resilience by participating in these events, expanding their social circles, and honing leadership skills through volunteer experiences. Various events hosted at the school, such as the Infosys plantation drive and creating greeting cards and rakhis for soldiers stationed at the borders, exemplify our steadfast commitment to serving others.
