Community Outreach
– Helen Keller
At Chitkara International School, we believe that we can gain much by engaging with partner schools and the local community. At our core, we want to develop in our students not only the knowledge and skills but also promote the well-being, rights and responsibilities which will enable them to grow into a significant and stalwart member of the society. In this regard, it is a matter of delight for the school that the dynamic Chitkarian, Arryan Madhu Chitkara has been conferred with the title of Brand Ambassador of Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0 and Swachh Survekshan 2023 for Chandigarh City.
Through philanthropic nature, association with different communities and adoption of a few villages and schools, we at CIS continue to endeavour to contribute our bit in making the world a better place.
-
Contributions –“By sharing we stand prepared to build relationships and give wings to humanity”
CIS has a long tradition of sharing resources with the schools and communities around. In accordance with its charitable aims, we contribute everyday useful items, furniture, clothes, toys, water bottle etc. to lend a hand to the people across. Also, it helps our students to develop the values and have experience that will equip them to become the change-makers of tomorrow.
-
Sessions – “Words to make a difference”
Service is fiercely embraced and deeply embedded in the ethos of CIS. We ensure our students develop not just intellectually, but also personally, ethically and spiritually, with the character and wisdom to use their knowledge for the benefit of others. Our students, health brigade team and staff visit various government schools to conduct sessions on Common First Aid Procedures, Food Hygiene and Nutrition, Adolescence Challenges, Menstrual Hygiene, Child Safety etc. In consonance with the same, in collaboration with Government Senior Secondary School, Dhanas, the school has organised various sessions that promote the noble mission of Swacch Bharat. It is our constant aim to generate knowledge locally that has a transnational impact and ensure that the knowledge generated within the community is informed by, and adds value around us.

Events – “Coming together and joining hands to serve”
We regularly open the doors of CIS for community events so that we can help the underprivileged and are porous to new ideas, innovations and individuals for the betterment of the society. Our students and staff nurture in character and resilience through participating in the community events organised in the school. They get a chance to widen the circle of people they meet and develop leadership skills or have a volunteering experience. Various events conducted at the school like Infosys plantation drive, making of greeting cards and rakhi for soldiers fighting at the borders etc are a few of the many examples of our commitment to service to life.
