Chitkara International School, Chandigarh and Panchkula along with Chitkara University, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (UNESCO MGIEP) to promote sustainable practices and uphold the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The collaboration will focus on attaining the UN Sustainable Development Target 4.7, which is to foster peaceful and sustainable societies worldwide through education. The UNESCO MGIEP actively engages in developing programmes that promote social and emotional learning (SEL), innovative digital technologies, and youth empowerment. The MoU, signed by the Pro-Chancellor of Chitkara University, Dr Madhu Chitkara, the Director of Chitkara International School, Dr Niyati Chitkara, and the Associate Director & Principal of Chitkara International School, Dr Honey Chitkara, will shed light on the Sustainable Developmental Goals and encourage students to participate in sustainability-promoting initiatives and activities.
