Summer Theatre Workshop with Barry John

The two weeks long summer theatre workshop initiated by Chitkara International School along with Barry John Acting Studio concluded at the school’s “Coliseum Theatre” on June 13, 2013. Students from 48 different schools of tricity and surrounding areas enthusiastically participated in the workshop.

The young actors showcased four different plays, touching different genres of life. Memories of childhood and youth, beliefs, attitudes, aspirations, fears, and dreams, all these aspects were shown in the plays. Mr. Barry John also shared his thoughts on introducing theatre studies as a formal subject and CBSE implementing it in the current session.

Ms. Niyati Chitkara, Principal of Chitkara International School said the reason for doing a theatre workshop by Barry John Acting Studio was to trust the child’s innate ability and let them express their feelings and emotions on the stage.
